PTSA

Parents, grandparents, guardians are all welcomed and encouraged to find your volunteer niche at SLMS. By completing the attached form and returning it, PTSA committee chairs will contact you by email when volunteers are needed. Below is a brief description of each committee/activity volunteer opportunity:  


DIRECT DONATION DRIVE:  Help with processing donations and obtaining and distributing prizes. Held in the fall.

MILE CHALLENGE:  Help with processing donations, counting laps, and obtaining and distributing prizes.   Held in the spring.

HOSPITALITY:  Help procure and setup refreshments for special events, including Popsicle Social in the fall and Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

OPEN HOUSE:  Help organize and setup for Open House in May.

8TH GRADE DANCE:  Help coordinate the theme, decor, and set up for the dance which will be held in early June.

8TH GRADE PROMOTION:  Help coordinate decorations and refreshments for the Promotion ceremony and reception held on the last day of school.

RESTAURANT NIGHT:  Help coordinate these fun and important fundraisers for our school!

COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE:  Help with PTSA website, newsletter, and social media.

GENERAL PTSA VOLUNTEER:  Be part of a general volunteer pool of people willing to help with various PTSA and school events including Hearing and Vision Screening in the fall.  You will be contacted as needed, and any help you can lend is appreciated!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: Works the same as in elementary school only we hold monthly drawings from donated box tops. Volunteers to count and tally before the big turn ins twice each year are needed.

PTSA REFLECTIONS COMMITTEE:  Help promote the program, collect pieces, find judges to evaluate submitted student works, and process winning entries that move on to the district.
